A Sustainable Farm

Green Acres Orchard & Ecolodge is a 16-acre organic fruit farm in Balik Pulau, Penang, Malaysia. 

80 years of traditional farming with wide crop variety from matured fruit and spice trees to wild herb plants, all produces are organically grown using own-made compost fertilizers without chemicals. There is high biodiversity of wildlife, weeds and insects owing to its natural environment. 

Committed to sustainable tourism, Green Acres offer farmstays in only 2 lodgings - a treehouse and a reassembled traditional Malay house (as shown in the photo above), using reclaimed materials to build and electricity generated by solar panels.  

The farm is a member of Slow Food International, a non-profit organization founded in Italy in 1986 that promotes biodiversity, education, advocacy and quality food for all. 

It is also a member of the Malaysia Demeter Association (MDA), an organization which is part of Biodynamic Federation Demeter International based in Switzerland that promotes biodynamic farming (holistic, ecological and ethical farming approach).

Durian Season 2025 (June - July '25)

This year's season may start as early as mid-May 2025 but our Durian Tasting tours open only from 1 June 2025 onwards, till 31 July 2025 or when the season ends.
