A Sustainable Farm

Welcome to Green Acres Orchard & Ecolodge - a 16-acre organic haven hidden in the lush valleys of Balik Pulau, Penang.

Rooted in more than 80 years of traditional farming, the orchard nurtures a wide variety of crops — from mature fruit and spice trees to wild herbs. All produce is grown organically using our own-made compost fertilisers, completely free of chemicals. There is a high biodiversity of wildlife, weeds, beneficial insects and native plants owing to its natural enviroment.

With more than 800 fruit and spice trees, the orchard offers something fresh in every season. Among them are 500 durian trees representing 35 unique varieties. Our mature durian trees — most between 50 and 100 years old — produce fruits with exceptional depth, complexity and lingering richness in taste - often likened to the refined character of fine aged wine.

Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond farming. We welcome guests to experience life on the farm through our nature friendly farmstays:

Powered partly by solar energy and supplied with natural spring water, the lodgings offer a low-impact yet high-comfort stay that lets you unwind and reconnect with nature’s gentle rhythm.

Green Acres is a member of Slow Food International, the global non-profit organization founded in Italy in 1986 that promotes biodiversity and champions good, clean, and fair food for all.

Through our membership with the Malaysia Demeter Association (MDA) - part of the Biodynamic Federation Demeter International based in Switzerland - we uphold a farming approach that is regenerative, ecological, and firmly rooted in ethical stewardship.

At Green Acres, every product is grown, picked and crafted by hand to preserve its authentic natural taste and flavour.
